Samvad Sutra Jagran, Shravasti. An eight-year-old boy named Subhash, resident of Nishad Nagar village of Gram Panchayat Chahalwa of Katarniaghat forest area, was attacked by a leopard. In his injured condition, his relatives took him to a private doctor, where the doctor declared him dead.
Subhash lives with his family in Nishad Nagar. Late on Wednesday night, his eight-year-old son Arun was playing with other children outside the house. During this time the leopard attacked him. The leopard picked up the child and started running towards the forest.
Hearing the screams of the child, the relatives and villagers ran after the leopard making noise. Seeing people coming towards him, the leopard left the child and ran towards the forest. The injured was taken to a private doctor, where the doctors declared him dead.
There is an atmosphere of panic in the village after the incident. The villagers informed the Forest Department about the incident and demanded that necessary steps be taken for security in the area. Ranger Ashish Gond said that information about the incident has been received. A team has been sent to the spot. Financial assistance of Rs 10,000 has been given to the relative.
