Communication Associate, Sitamarhi. Sitamarhi Driving License Suspension: Now merely paying the challan will not end the matter. The Transport Department has increased strictness against those breaking traffic rules in Sitamarhi district.

Direct driving license suspension action has been initiated against drivers who do not wear helmets and seat belts, do not keep vehicle documents in order and repeatedly violate rules. The process of suspending 155 such driving licenses is going on in the district.

According to the Transport Department, investigation of digital records has revealed that many drivers are repeatedly violating the same traffic rules. This strict step has been taken with the aim of curbing road accidents and making people responsible towards the rules. The department clearly says that now the attitude of “paid the challan and it is done” will not work.

District Transport Officer Prashant Kumar said that constant monitoring is being done to follow the rules. He said that the drivers who are found repeatedly breaking the rules, their driving licenses are being suspended under departmental provisions. This action is not to harass anyone, but to stop the increasing road accidents in the district and strengthen road safety.

DTO has appealed to the drivers to use helmet and seat belt regularly, keep all the documents related to the vehicle updated and pay the pending challan on time, so that strict action can be avoided.
