Jagran correspondent, Jhansi. The upset consumer complained to the commission when the phone, costing more than Rs 1 lakh, was repeatedly hanging during the warranty period and the problem was not resolved even after the motherboard and charging pin were replaced by the service centre.

When the company did not provide any solution, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission conducted a hearing and ordered the company to give a new mobile phone to the victim customer.

Naveen Srivastava, resident of CP Mission Compound, had purchased the mobile phone on November 17, 2023 for Rs 1.05 lakh. Commission Chairman Amar Pal Singh and members Devesh Agnihotri and Jyoti Prabha Jain considered it a serious error in service.

The Commission ordered the company and the seller to provide the complainant with a new mobile phone of the same model in exchange of the defective mobile phone within two months. An order has also been made to pay Rs 3,000 for mental distress and Rs 2,000 for expenses.
