The District and Sessions Court on Thursday sentenced five convicts to life imprisonment in the famous murder case of Railway TTE Manpreet Malik that took place on Sanauli Road about three years ago. These include Nitish, Jaikaran alias Bhullar, Karthik, resident of village Kurad, Sachin alias Chinu, resident of Dhansauli, Kapil, resident of Vidyanand Colony.

According to the case filed in the court, Himmat Singh, resident of village Ugrakhedi, had told the police that on October 5, 2022, at around 7:30 pm, he reached Goyal Marble.

He saw that six to seven boys were attacking his nephew Manpreet and Manish, a youth from the village, with knives and sticks. The attackers had stabbed Manpreet several times with knives in his hands, waist and back of his chest. Seriously bleeding Manpreet and Manish were taken to a private hospital, from where Manpreet was referred in view of his critical condition. Manpreet died on the way to the hospital.

After the incident, the villagers of village Ugrakhedi had a meeting with the police outside the mortuary in the civil hospital. There was a demand for immediate action against the accused. On the basis of long investigation and evidence, the police arrested the accused Nitish, Jaikaran alias Bhullar, Sachin alias Chinu, Karthik and Kapil. The turning point during the police investigation came when Arvind Gurjar, who was initially named, was found innocent in the investigation.

After the statement of witnesses and verification of the spot, the police had thrown him out of the case. The police had presented strong evidence in the court like the weapon used in the murder, FSL report and footage, on the basis of which the court has given this decision. The court had convicted the five accused on Wednesday. The court has given its verdict on the punishment on Thursday.
