Haryana Police STF extradited gangster Sombir Motta from America (file photo)
State Bureau, Chandigarh. Haryana Police's Special Task Force (STF), acting against internationally organized crime, has successfully extradited Rohtak's notorious gangster Sombir alias Motta from the United States of America.
This is the 10th major extradition done by STF Haryana since the year 2025. This is the third important extradition by Haryana Police from the US in the form of gangster Sombir Motta. Earlier, Lakhwinder alias Lakha was extradited on October 25 and Aman Bhainswal was extradited on January 7.
Haryana DGP Ajay Singhal said that the successful extradition of notorious gangster Sombir alias Motta from the United States is a direct testimony of the professional efficiency, technical capability and strong investigation system of STF Haryana. Sombir alias Motta is the brother of notorious criminal Anil Chhipi and has close links with Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi gang.
In 2014, his involvement was also found in the murder of a member of Mainpal Badli gang in Bhondsi jail of Gurugram. The accused has been active in murder, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, robbery and serious crimes under the Arms Act. Its criminal activities were spread in various areas including Rohtak, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Delhi and Rajasthan.
Sombir Motta is an accused in 26 serious criminal cases registered in Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. These cases include crimes related to murder, attempt to murder, extortion, dacoity, robbery, NDPS Act and Arms Act. Along with this, he has also been declared a proclaimed offender.
A look out circular was issued against the accused and an Interpol Red Corner Notice was also circulated. During investigation, it was found that he had left India for Bangkok from Mumbai Airport on January 3, 2024 through a fraudulently obtained passport. That passport was canceled by RPO Ghaziabad on 14 August 2024.
