Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. In broad daylight, three miscreants looted gold jewelery from a wholesale jewelery shop at Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi at the point of pistol and fled away. The value of the looted jewelery is said to be around Rs 45 to 50 lakh. During this, the miscreants attacked and injured the female employee sitting at the reception on the head with the butt of the pistol.

The Kotwali police station team, which reached the information, has registered a case on the complaint of the victim and the accused are being identified by examining the CCTV footage. Police suspect that an employee may be behind this incident. In view of this, the shop employees are also being interrogated.

According to the police, there is a wholesale business of gold jewelery in Anarwali street of Kinari Bazaar. On Wednesday, he and his three employees including a woman were at the shop when around 1:30 pm three miscreants carrying pistols entered the shop by breaking the glass door and attacked the woman sitting at the reception on the head with the butt of the pistol.

The incident was carried out in just 10 minutes

After this, the shop owner, pointing his pistol at the gun, packed the jewelery kept in the safe in his bag and ran away. The miscreants carried out the entire incident in about ten minutes. The police team, which reached the information, admitted the injured woman to the hospital, registered a case and took possession of the CCTV footage installed in the shop.

After this the forensic team also reached the spot and collected evidence. Police suspect that an employee or someone knowledgeable may be behind the incident. Therefore, the police is also interrogating the employees. There is an atmosphere of panic among the shopkeepers of the area after the incident which took place in broad daylight.
