Now house tax bill will be available on mobile also. There will also be online facility to pay bills. The corporation has signed an agreement with a private bank.
The Municipal Corporation aims to generate revenue of about Rs 2.5 crore annually from house tax. House tax bills are given to people by the corporation by going door-to-door. Many times people complain that they do not receive house tax bills on time. After receiving the bill, people come to the Municipal Corporation and deposit the bill.
Most of the people deposit house tax in the month of March. Due to this, there is a long queue to deposit the bill. Now the Municipal Corporation is preparing to make the house tax system online. In the next financial year, house tax bills will be available on people's mobile phones. Data of consumers paying house tax has been collected by the corporation.
About 12 thousand houses are included in this. Along with this, the facility to deposit tax will also be made online. People can deposit taxes sitting at home. The Municipal Corporation has signed an agreement with a private bank in this regard. The corporation has prepared its data.
Now work has to be done on software etc. by the bank. Assistant Municipal Commissioner Chandrakant Bhatt said that preparations are being made to make house tax online. The Municipal Corporation is trying to double the income under House Tax. In this, central institutions will also come under the tax net. Till now these areas were outside the corporation limits. After the expansion of the corporation limits, these areas have joined the corporation. The corporation provides facilities for garbage collection etc. Along with this, there are preparations to impose business tax in new areas. This will not include those 12 wards which are related to forest land issue.
