Nirmal Yamuna Padyatra reached South Delhi on Wednesday.

The 500 km long uninterrupted Nirmal Yamuna Padyatra, which was set out for Delhi under the leadership of water man Dr. Sanjay Singh from Pachnada in Uttar Pradesh, reached South Delhi on Wednesday. Jal Saheli (Jal Saheli) participating in the padyatra were welcomed by Swabhiman Desh Organization at Banke Bihari Garden in Mithapur of Badarpur assembly constituency. The journey will be completed by reaching Rajghat via Mithapur, Kalindikunj, Sarita Vihar, Ashram Chowk. Sanjay Singh said that Yamuna is not just a river but the lifeline of crores of people and our cultural heritage. To make Yamuna uninterrupted and clean, the participation of the government as well as the society is very important. National President of Swabhiman Desh Organization, Surendra Singh Bidhuri said that Yamuna is a symbol of our faith and culture. Society and government together will have to take a pledge to make Yamuna clean and uninterrupted.
Meanwhile, Yamuna Sansad convenor Ravi Shankar Tiwari said that through Yamuna Sansad, public dialogue and mass movement is being carried out continuously regarding river conservation and this padyatra is an important link in that effort. Jal Saheli is going from village to village and city to city to make people aware about water saving, rain water harvesting and cleanliness of rivers.
On this occasion, National President of Jal Saheli Committee Pushpa Kushwaha, President of Namo Vichar Sangh S Rahul, Keshar Prajapati, Lakshmi Kushwaha, Rekha Ahirwar, Gayatri Rajput, Lakshmi Kushwaha etc. were present.
