Jagran correspondent, Rampur. A CNG-powered car caught fire after being hit by a dumper on the Khaud bypass of Swar Road at around 11 pm on Wednesday. Due to this, the couple, their three-year-old son and relatives resident of Bareilly got trapped in the car.
Somehow the couple and relative saved their lives by jumping. But the child burnt to death in the car. The woman burnt in the fire has been admitted to Sanjeevi Hospital. Police are scanning CCTV camera footage in search of the accused dumper driver.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Anurag Singh, Dan Singh's family lives in village Behtra of Milak area. His wife Lata is posted with the police in Kaushambi. Late on Wednesday night, Dan Singh was returning home from Nainital by car with his wife, his son Lattu and cousin Ravi, resident of Bareilly. Dan Singh was driving the car.
This car is registered in the name of Dan Singh's home guard father Ingal Singh. Told that after 11 pm, when his car reached near Kashipur Anga village on Khaud bypass of Swar Road, it was crushed by a dumper. The collision was so severe that within a moment the car became a ball of fire.
Everyone got trapped inside the car. However, somehow Dan Singh, his wife Lata and relative Ravi somehow saved their lives. But the innocent top remained trapped inside. Due to which he died by burning in the fire. While the couple and relatives got burnt. Policeman Lata has been admitted with serious burns. Where his condition remains critical.
