The murder case of financier Sanjay Singh was exposed.
Jagran correspondent, Ludhiana. Police have busted the murder case of 42-year-old financier Sanjay Singh and arrested three accused. This case was solved after scanning the footage of 45 CCTV cameras. The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Singh, a resident of Giyaspura, who worked in vehicle finance. He was missing since January 3, the complaint of which was lodged by his brother Santosh Kumar at Sahnewal police station.
On January 5, a body was recovered near Meharban area, which was later identified as that of Sanjay Singh. DCP Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said that two main reasons have emerged behind the murder. The first reason was the relationship between Munna Kumar's sister and Sanjay Singh, which Munna opposed.
The second reason was Rajesh Kumar's financial rivalry. Sanjay had got Rajesh an auto on installments. After not being able to pay some of the installments, the vehicle was sold to someone else, due to which Rajesh felt cheated and decided to take revenge.
Friendship formed in jail, conspiracy hatched after coming out
Police investigation revealed that Munna Kumar (30), Mangal Singh (28) and Rajesh Kumar (33) had earlier been lodged in jail, it was there that they became friends. After coming out on bail, all three started living together in a rented house in Hargobind Nagar area of Giyaspura and planned to eliminate Sanjay. On January 3, Sanjay was called to the room. After that the accused beat him up and also took away the cash he had with him. Later an attempt was made to dispose of the dead body.
Withdrawal of money from ATM became reason for arrest
During the investigation, an important clue was found that even after Sanjay's disappearance, money was withdrawn from his bank account. When the police searched the footage of the ATM and surrounding cameras, the accused were seen using the bike of the deceased. Connecting this link, the police searched the footage of about 45 cameras and finally succeeded in reaching the three accused.
At the behest of the accused, the police have recovered the iron rod used in the murder and the bike of the deceased. CIA-1 in-charge Inspector Avtar Singh and police station Meherban played a special role in solving this case.
