Jagran correspondent, Sasaram (Rohtas). Taking major action, the District Cyber Police has arrested the main accused in the cyber fraud case of Rs 40.11 lakh. Police have arrested Gajendra Tiwari alias Vineet Tiwari from Kanha Chhapra village under Sinha police station area of Bhojpur district. The accused has been arrested and sent to jail in judicial custody.
Youth trapped in earning money from game
According to the police, Rahul Kumar Singh, resident of Danwar village of Kachhwa police station area, fell into the trap of cyber thugs in the greed of earning money through games. The swindlers lured them into earning profits by investing in online gaming.
Fraud of Rs 40.11 lakh in two and a half months
It is alleged that between May 1 and July 17, the swindlers defrauded Rahul Kumar Singh of a total of Rs 40 lakh 11 thousand 744. Initially, trust was won by showing some benefits and later a huge amount was transferred.
Felt cheated as soon as mobile switched off
When the victim tried to contact the thugs, his mobile phone was found switched off. After this he realized that he was cheated and lodged a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal.
They kept misleading people by promising to return two lakhs.
After the complaint was registered, the swindlers contacted the victim and asked to return Rs 2 lakh and 'cash manage' the remaining amount, but this also proved to be another fraud.
Arrest of the accused after technical investigation
SP Roshan Kumar said that after technical investigation of the case, FIR accused of fraud Gajendra Tiwari has been identified and arrested. Further investigation is going on and the role of other people involved in the fraud is also being investigated.
