, Major Action Against Drugs In Delhi, Two Smugglers Arrested With Heroin Worth Rs 1.5 Crore

Jagran correspondent, outer Delhi. Taking major action against drug smuggling, the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Outer-North District has arrested two smugglers from Narela area and recovered 304 grams of high quality heroin. Its price in the international market is said to be around Rs 1.50 crore. Police are interrogating the accused and finding out the source of heroin along with their other associates.

Outer North District Police Deputy Commissioner Hareshwar V Swami said that on December 21, the police had received specific information regarding the movement of drug smugglers in Narela area. Based on the information, a team was formed under the leadership of Anti-Narcotics Cell in-charge Inspector Gaurav Chaudhary, ACP Dinesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Northern Range) Vijay Singh.

The team reached Narela on the basis of information. Where he stopped two youths coming on Shine motorcycle. When the motorcycle was searched, 304 grams of heroin was recovered. The police caught both the accused riding the bike.

The arrested accused have been identified as Tasleem and Salman Ansari, both residents of New Seemapuri. Taslim is a driver by profession and is said to be a drug addict, while Salman Ansari is a tailor by profession and a case has already been registered against him under the NDPS Act.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections in Narela police station area and arrested both the accused. Deputy Commissioner Hareshwar Swamy said that a thorough investigation of the case is going on and all the front and back links of the supply chain are being investigated to reach the leaders and suppliers associated with the drugs syndicate.
