Preparation to create police zone in Bhagalpur
Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. To overcome the problem of quick disposal of pending cases and slow investigation, it has been decided to increase seven to eight new police circles in Bhagalpur district. The list of new zones is being prepared on the instructions of the Police Headquarters. The proposal is likely to be sent to the headquarters within two days. It is expected that new police zones will come into existence by March.
Bihar Police has taken this big step to challenge the pending cases and delay in investigation. There are preparations to increase the number of police circles in the entire state including Bhagalpur from 357 to 552. The draft for this has almost been prepared. DGP Vinay Kumar has agreed to form 195 new police circles. At present, on an average, an inspector has 100 to 150 cases, which affects the investigation. After the formation of new zones, this number will reduce to about 60, which will speed up the disposal of cases and make the investigation process more effective.
Reorganization of police zones will not only improve law and order but will also strengthen the reporting and supervision system. Apart from this, new opportunities for promotion will also be created for police inspectors. Bhagalpur SSP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that at present there are eight police circles in the district, whose number is planned to be increased from 13 to 15. Earlier a proposal was sent to increase the zones from eight to 16 to 17, but on the instructions of the headquarters, the proposal is being amended and prepared again, which will be sent in two days.
The SSP said that at present there are on an average about 900 cases in a police circle, the target is to reduce them to 500 to 600. He said that due to excessive work pressure on inspectors, there is delay in investigation and research. By increasing the number of zones, the workload will be divided, which will lead to speedy disposal of cases and the victims will be able to get justice quickly.
