Lifestyle Desk, New Delhi. There is no doubt that our concentration span is decreasing. Even when we are busy, we are constantly distracted by notifications. Not only this, when we stop from our work for a while, we turn to the screen to avoid boredom and loneliness.
In fact, digital distraction is the biggest obstacle in the way of concentration. The screen creates difficulty while doing any work. Some people are unable to concentrate even after turning off notifications and the phone. Experts believe that due to small content and constant scrolling, our brain is always eager to discover something new. Easy methods of concentration-
Step 1: Know your state of concentration
How often do you use your phone and how much does it distract you? People don't pay attention to this. Next time you do some work, how many times are you getting distracted? And keep track of what's distracting. You can try this first for every hour and then for the whole day. If you can manage it then you can do this process for the whole week. In the end you will get a figure of how often you wander, what is the reason behind it and in which situation your concentration is best.
Step 2: Reduce distractions
To maintain concentration, you can stay away from internet media and mobile etc. If you feel that these methods are not useful then you can start with small changes.
Step 3: Train for longer concentration
Audit the concentration after a week or two to see if there is any change. If you still feel disoriented then you need to make more efforts.
Next, notice the moment when your mind wanders. Bring your concentration back to the anchor and notice what you see, hear or feel. Mindful apps or trying the 10 minute challenge can give you an idea.
