Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. In Majhola area, her in-laws burnt a married woman alive for not having a son. Amidst the flames, the married woman came out of the house pleading for help. The people nearby somehow controlled the fire, but by the time the married woman was burnt to the extent of 60 percent.
The accused in-laws ran away leaving the married woman at the spot. Upon receiving the information, the parents admitted the married woman to a private hospital in Pakbada. On the basis of the complaint letter, the police have registered an FIR against six people including the husband. Chandrapal, a resident of village Berani in Kudhfatehgarh area of Sambhal district, married his daughter Nishu Saxena to Gaurav Saxena, a resident of Adarsh Gali, 15 years ago.
The woman gave birth to four daughters in her married life. Meanwhile, a daughter had died due to illness. Due to not having a son, her in-laws used to harass the married woman every day. It is alleged that on Sunday morning once again a dispute started between the husband and wife regarding this matter. The in-laws poured inflammable substance and set the married woman on fire. Due to this the woman got surrounded by flames.
The married woman kept shouting for help, but no one came to save her. Meanwhile the woman came out of the house. People gathered nearby. They controlled the fire. By the time the woman was badly burnt. Police arrived. The accused ran away before the police arrived. The parents were called.
The parents took Nishu to a private hospital. Where his condition remains critical. Inspector Ravindra Kumar said that on the basis of the complaint letter, an FIR has been registered naming husband Gaurav Saxena, mother-in-law Rani, sister-in-law Usha, Pooja, Champa, Ashok. The accused are being searched. The accused will be arrested soon.
