Jagran correspondent, Jind. A woman committed suicide by swallowing poisonous substance in Vishwakarma Colony on Sunday afternoon. On the complaint of the deceased's father, a case of dowry death has been registered against the husband and investigation has been started.

35-year-old Pinky, wife of Ramesh, resident of Indra Colony, Kabracha Hall, swallowed poisonous substance on Sunday afternoon. He was taken to a private hospital in the city for treatment. Where Pinky died during treatment. After receiving information about the incident, the city police station and people from the maternal side reached the spot.

The deceased's father, Suber Beg, resident of Koth Kalan, told in the complaint given to the police that his daughter Pinky was married to Ramesh about two years ago. His son-in-law Ramesh was also caught with illegal weapons in 2025. Since marriage, Ramesh was harassing his daughter regarding dowry. To save the marriage, she had also given Rs 1 lakh to Ramesh.

Even after this, Ramesh continued to harass his daughter. Troubled by this, his daughter Pinky committed suicide by swallowing poisonous substance. On the complaint of Suber Baig, the city police station has registered a case of dowry death against the deceased's husband Ramesh and started investigation.

Investigating officer of the city police station, Kuldeep Singh, said that the father of the deceased had given a complaint accusing his son-in-law. At present the case has been registered. The case is being investigated.

When the post-mortem of the dead body was being conducted in the Civil Hospital on Monday, the parents of the mother's side remained adamant for a long time demanding the arrest of the accused. Police said that accused Ramesh is not in the city at present. He will be arrested soon. After a long time the relatives agreed for post-mortem.
