Dialogue partner, Jagran Sambhal. A 70-year-old old woman, Ram Murthy, who was sleeping in a hut, caught fire under suspicious circumstances at around 5:30 pm on Thursday evening in village Khalilpur of Dhanari police station area, and a 70-year-old old woman, Ram Murthy, was burnt to death.
At the time of the incident, she was sleeping on a cot inside the hut. It is being told that cow dung cakes and other burning fuel were also kept in the hut. According to preliminary information, they could not find out when and how the fire broke out and the fire slowly spread and engulfed them.
When the people nearby saw smoke and flames, they reached the spot and somehow tried to control the fire, but by then the old woman was badly burnt and she died on the spot.
The woman's elder son Malkhan has accused the villagers of setting the fire but the police say that the possibility of fire cannot be ruled out due to the cow dung cakes and other inflammable materials kept in the hut. Forensic and local evidence is being collected on the spot. Bahjoi CO Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh said that prima facie there is a possibility of fire due to the cow dung cakes and other fuel kept in the hut. The cause of the fire is being investigated. If any person is making allegations then those facts will also be investigated impartially. The allegations have not been confirmed yet. The police is taking action keeping all aspects in mind.
