Minor Chased Away In Ludhiana On The Pretext Of Marriage, Family Received Death Threats If They Complained

A minor was lured away on the pretext of marriage.

Samvad Sutra, Jagraon. The case has reached Ludhiana Dehat SSP Dr. Ankur Gupta, where the accused threatened to kill the girl's brother when he lodged a complaint with the police about abducting a minor. In which the victim's family has appealed for justice.

This case is of village Rakwa under Mullapur Dakha, where a boy abducted a minor studying in class 11th on December 23 on the pretext of marriage, but from behind the boy's relatives threatened the girl's family that if they complained to the police, they would lose their son too. After the threat, the family remained silent out of compulsion and now members of farmer organization CITU met the SSP along with the victim's family and narrated their ordeal.

According to the victim's family, on the day of the incident, a young man from the village ran away with their minor daughter on a bike. This entire incident was witnessed by a friend of the victim's brother. When the family members reached the house of the accused youth in search of their daughter, they were misled and abused and sent away.

The family alleges that when they asked to lodge a complaint with the police, the same evening the relatives of the accused, including the boy's uncle and others, reached their house and started threatening to kill them and said that if they complained to the police, their son would be killed.

Frightened by these threats, the family did not muster the courage to go to the police station. When farmers group CITU got information about the matter on Thursday, organization member Gurpreet Singh along with the victim's family met SSP Gupta in his office on Friday and submitted a written complaint about the entire matter.

SSP ordered immediate investigation

CITU leader Gurpreet Singh said that the matter of kidnapping of a minor and threatening the family is very serious. He said that SSP Dr. Ankur Gupta listened to the entire incident seriously and assured of strict action against the accused. The SSP asked the victim's family to go to the concerned police station area and register the case immediately, in this regard the SSP has also given instructions to the SHO of Mullanpur police station.
