Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation, Arvind Singh, has filed a case in Ghazipur police station against unknown employees of Sadar branch of Bank of India for transferring Rs 64.82 crore from fake FD at the branch to a fake account of the department, alleging fraud, forgery and manipulation of electronic evidence. Managing Director of the corporation, Arvind Singh has written in the complaint that an FD of Rs 64.82 crore was made in Bank of Maharashtra.

The Managing Director says that to fix it again after its maturity, proposals were sought from the banks by December 30 by sending an e-mail on December 29, 2025. On the same day at 4 pm, the tenders of various banks lying in the tender box were opened in front of the committee. The rate of Bank of India Sadar branch was 6.73 percent, which was the highest.

Asked to make one year FD of Rs 64.82 crore at Bank of India's non-callable rate of 6.70 percent. Corporation's assistant accountant Rajkumar Gautam, who was present at the time of the tender, asked for the original receipt from the Bank of India employee on January 5.

The receipt provided by the employee was only for Rs 6.82 crore. Seeing this, a letter was again written to the bank on January 6 to confirm the FD, but the receipt was not confirmed by Bank of India. After this, a letter was sent from Bank of India to the corporation office on January 7 in which it was told that instead of Rs 64.82 crore, FD of only Rs 6.82 crore has been deposited in the savings account opened in the name of Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation at the rate of 6.25 percent for 12 months.

Ghazipur Inspector Rajesh Maurya said that documents have been sought from the bank and the department. Investigation will be done on this basis. An attempt was made to talk to ND Pandey, Operation Head of Bank of India, regarding this matter. He was also messaged, but he did not respond.
