Accused Nazim injured in encounter
Jagran correspondent, Meerut. The accused of the deadly attack opened fire on the police team while recovering the weapon. When the police retaliated, the accused got injured by a bullet in his leg. The police have admitted the injured to CHC.
According to the police, on December 25, Nazim, resident of Ahmed Nagar of Lisadi Gate police station area, along with his uncle's sons Subhan and Surhan and their friends Ahmed and Junaid, had opened fire on Azim, son of Mobeen, resident of Lal Kuan police station Sardhana with the intention of killing.
On Monday, the police arrested the accused and recovered the scooter used in the crime. During interrogation, the accused said that he had hidden the pistol used in the crime under a tree on the road leading from Daurala bridge to Madhiiya.
Late in the night, the police reached Madhiya Marg to recover the pistol from the accused. Here the accused took out the pistol hidden under the tree, fired at the police team and started running away.
The police, defending themselves, retaliated by firing at the accused. The accused got injured after being shot in the leg and fell down. Police station in-charge Dinesh Pratap Singh says that the injured has been admitted to CHC Sardhana.
