Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. Dainik Jagran's campaign for a healthy society is organizing workshops to make the seriousness of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) known to the people.

In the workshop held at Kailash Saraswati Inter College, Kalyanpur on Monday, the students were told the seriousness of antibiotics and they themselves and their parents were made to take a pledge to avoid it. After searching on Google, the seriousness of taking medicine from a medical store and consuming it was explained.

Professor Dr. Vikas Mishra of GSVM Medical College said that antimicrobial resistance is becoming a common and global challenge before us. No one is paying attention to it because its side effects appear after a long time.

Due to neglect, this resistance is becoming fatal. Everyone will have to make efforts at their own level to stop arbitrary misuse of antibiotics.

Medicines kept at home should not be used without doctor's advice. Principal Snehlata Shukla, Coordinator Meenakshi Upadhyay, Premchandra Agnihotri, Pradeep Rajput and Gangesh Bajpai were present.
