More Than 10 Thousand E-rickshaws Registered In Muzaffarpur; Route Fixed For 4800, Administration Strict On Minor Drivers

Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. To improve the traffic system of the city, the administration has determined zones and routes for operation of autos and e-rickshaws from December 20. The number of autos and e-rickshaws running on these has also been fixed.

Orders have been given to mention zone and route numbers on autos and e-rickshaws. A large number of numbers have been marked. The administration has asked for the numbers of autos and e-rickshaws running on these routes from the Muzaffarpur Auto and E-Rickshaw Employees Union. The union has prepared data of numbers of all routes. It will be handed over to the district administration on Tuesday.

On the other hand, many questions have started being raised regarding the new traffic system. After deciding the number of routes, the biggest question is regarding autos and e-rickshaws running on online booking. There are many companies serving the entire city. In such a situation, the question arises that what is the order for them in the new system. Routes will be fixed for them too or they will be free to go on any route. The number of registered e-rickshaws in the district is more than 10 thousand.

The administration has fixed the number of around 4800 autos and e-rickshaws for the routes and zones. In such a situation, how will the remaining e-rickshaws be operated? How will the sale and registration of new e-rickshaw be done? If new e-rickshaws are registered, where and how will they operate? District Transport Officer Kumar Satendra Yadav said that action will be taken on all points as per the orders of the District Magistrate.

According to the information, the route wise numbers of autos and e-rickshaws will be with the administration. If a case of violation comes to light during investigation, fine and action will be taken. DTO said that further action will be taken after the list given by the union. Here, union president AR Annu and general secretary Mohd. Ilyas Ilu said that the data is being prepared. Soon it will be handed over to the administration.

Control on minor drivers, campaign to check driving license

After fixing the number of autos and e-rickshaws on the routes in the city, the administration is preparing to rein in minor drivers. Police and Transport Department will soon launch a campaign in the city to control such drivers. DTO said that fine will be imposed against minor drivers and those driving other vehicles including autos and e-rickshaws without a driving license. If a minor is found driving, there is a provision of a fine of Rs 25,000 on the guardian.
