Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Principal District and Sessions Judge cum District Legal Services Authority President Shweta Kumari Singh inspected Shaheed Khudiram Bose Central Jail on Thursday. During this, CJM Raj Kapoor and Dalsa Secretary Jayshree Kumari were also present with him.
During the inspection, the Principal District Judge visited various wards of the jail, especially the women's ward, and inquired about the well-being of the prisoners. The complaint box set up by the District Legal Services Authority was also opened. No application was received in this.
When asked about the renovation of the old buildings and library of the jail, the prison administration said that the process of renovation is currently going on. The Principal District Judge inspected the manufacturing plants operating in the jail premises. This included spice centres, mustard oil units and wooden furniture manufacturing factories.
He said that along with trained prisoners, new prisoners should also be involved in these works, so that after coming out of jail, they can use the skills to earn a respectable living. Appreciated the Mithila paintings carved by the prisoners on the jail walls.

Inspired for creative work. During this time the woman also met the children of the prisoners. Before this he was given the Guard of Honour. Jail Superintendent Yusuf Rizwan and other jail officials were present on the spot.
During the inspection, he interacted with the prisoners and tried to know whether they face caste based discrimination. No prisoner made any such complaint on this. Expressed satisfaction over the state of cleanliness in the jail premises.
In view of the increasing cold, the Principal District Judge directed the prison administration to make arrangements for adequate bonfire. Asked to provide blankets and warm clothes to all the prisoners on time. The guidelines of Supreme Court, High Court, NALSA and BALSA should be followed in letter and spirit. There should be no delay in prisoners getting legal aid through the Legal Services Centre.
