Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has asked the Delhi government and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to file a reply within 10 days on borewell de-sealing in hotels in Paharganj.
Directing the filing of the affidavit, a bench headed by NGT Chairman Justice Prakash Srivastava adjourned the next hearing on the case to February 23, 2026. NGT gave the said order on Varun's application.
During the hearing, the Delhi government told the NGT that as per the previous order, the investigation has been completed and the investigation report has been filed along with the affidavit of the Chief Secretary of the Delhi government.
Applicant Varun said that the borewells of four hotels located in Paharganj, New Delhi have not been de-sealed yet despite obtaining the necessary no objection certificates. These include Hotel Sahil DX, Hotel Delhi Continental, Hotel Hindustan International and Hotel MEM International. The applicant has sought instructions to Delhi Government, District Magistrate, Central District, Delhi to de-seal the borewell.
