Jagran correspondent, Noida. On Christmas, people were troubled with traffic jams from noon to evening on Thursday. There was a jam like situation on DLF and GIP Road as well as Noida Stadium and Venice Mall road till evening. Ambulances also had to face traffic jams around the stadium.
People who went out for sightseeing or shopping wasted a lot of time getting stuck in traffic jams. Traffic was also disrupted due to rickshaws and vendors standing on the road and movement of pedestrians. People expressed displeasure over the poor traffic system on the holiday. Also complained to police officers. Traffic policemen remained busy arranging traffic till late evening.
Due to Christmas holiday, people went out for sightseeing and shopping in the afternoon. A lot of vehicular traffic was seen around Sector 18, DLF Mall, GIP, Garden Galleria Mall, which are considered prime places in Noida. People were seen turning their vehicles wherever they wanted.
Due to lack of attention of the traffic policemen, a queue of vehicles was soon seen. Then what about GIP and DLF Road? When vehicles got stuck between honking horns for a long time, people posted on X and made calls to inform the traffic police about the problem.
Similar conditions continued till the evening. Apart from this, people also had to bear the pressure of vehicles around Noida Stadium till late evening. Raja Maurya posted on the traffic police's account that he had to face traffic jam for several hours around the stadium.
It took more than half an hour for drivers to cover a distance of a few minutes. Even the ambulance had to go through long traffic jams to reach the destination. DCP Traffic Praveen Ranjan Singh said that the number of pedestrians on DLF Mall Road was quite high. Due to this, traffic movement was affected. Traffic policemen were busy making arrangements everywhere.
