Neelu Ranjan, Guwahati. Just before the Assam and West Bengal assembly elections, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has announced strict action against infiltrators.

Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone of the headquarters of the 10th battalion of Assam Police in Kamrup, Assam, Shah, pointing to the removal of names of infiltrators from the voter list in SIR, said, "If our party forms the government, in the next five years we will expel the infiltrators not only from the voter list but also from the country."

Responding to the opposition's attacks against SIR, Amit Shah said that the country will definitely be free from infiltrators. He said that eradication of infiltrators is very important to make Assam a peaceful state. Just as the country is becoming free from Maoism, in the same way the entire country including Assam will also be free from infiltrators.

He accused Congress of giving shelter to infiltrators

He accused Congress of giving shelter to infiltrators. Shah said that by allowing infiltrators, the opposition party handed over the fertile land of Assam to them. This damaged the identity of the Assamese community and put the cultural heritage in danger.

He accused Congress of damaging all three – caste, soil and heritage (cultural basis). He said that the BJP government will do the work of freeing Assam from the sins of the opposition party.

Shah appreciated the work done by the BJP government in the last 10 years to stop infiltration and free the land from encroachment. He said that the 174 acres of land on which the headquarters of the 10th battalion of Assam Police is being built was earlier in the possession of infiltrators, which has been freed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Referring to Prime Minister Modi's 80 visits to the Northeast in the last 11 years, Shah said that Northeast India has been the priority of the Modi government, while the opposition always left the Northeast to its fate. After the BJP government comes to power, Assam is going to become the industrial hub of Eastern India and the entire North-East in the next five years.

Home Minister reiterated - the country will be free from Maoist violence before March 31

Addressing the 864th Foundation Day program of CRPF in Guwahati, Amit Shah once again claimed that the country will be Maoist free by March 31. He praised the important role of CRPF in tackling Maoism as well as in establishing peace by ending terrorism in Kashmir and insurgency in the North-East. Describing the foundation day of CRPF in Guwahati as important, he said that it is being celebrated for the first time in North-East India.
