V. Raja, Barabanki. After the incident of escape of prisoners in Ayodhya, the security arrangements of District Jail Barabanki are being made hi-tech. Now there will be artificial intelligence (AI) based surveillance from the main wall of the jail till inside the premises. Every activity of the prisoners will be monitored and the activities of the prisoners will also be recorded while on duty.

The new system for prison security will now be based on AI technology. Eight cameras with alert system will be installed. These cameras will be installed at a height of 22 feet on the main wall of the prison. As soon as a person climbs up to 18 feet, the AI ​​system will immediately issue an alert.

If any prisoner tries to cross the wall, the AI ​​will make an alarm noise. It will only identify the human and tell if any bird or animal comes, then AI will not give alert.

Surveillance through body worn cameras

The district jail built during the British rule is now being brought under strong guard with modern technology. At present surveillance is being done with 50 CC cameras. Drones will also be used to monitor the jail premises.

For this, five prison guards are being trained. Besides, body worn cameras will be provided to the jail personnel, so that every activity happening inside the jail can be recorded.

1120 prisoners, 24 barracks and 45 female prisoners

At present, 1120 prisoners are lodged in 24 barracks of the district jail, which includes 45 women prisoners. One jail superintendent, one jailer, five deputy jailers and about 120 prisoners are deployed for security arrangements.

Eight cameras with AI technology and alert system will be installed on the main wall of the prison. Now if any prisoner tries to climb the wall, the alarm will automatically sound.
