Jagran correspondent, Meerut. The increased fare rates have been implemented by the Railways. The fares of major trains going from Meerut have increased by Rs 10 to 20. Vande Bharat chair car fare from Meerut to Ayodhya has now become Rs 1615. Whereas the fare of executive class has become Rs 2915. Chair car fare has increased by Rs 10 and executive class fare by Rs 15.
The fare of Shalimar Express from Meerut to Jammu Tawi has become Rs 355 for sleeper class and Rs 935 for AC three tier. It has increased by Rs 15. Meerut to Lucknow Nauchandi Express AC three tier has become Rs 760 and sleeper class Rs 290. Lucknow fare for both classes has increased by Rs 10.
To go from Meerut to Indore, the fare of Ujjaini Express for AC three tier has become Rs 1290 and sleeper class Rs 490. Fares for both categories have increased by Rs 20. The fare of Yoga Express to go to Ahmedabad has become Rs 520 for sleeper class and Rs 1360 for AC three tier.
In this, the fares of sleeper and AC three tier have increased by Rs 20. Daily commuters have expressed happiness over the fare not being increased for the short distance of 215 kilometres. But there has been a demand to improve the delayed operation of the shuttle train. It is said that an EMU train will be provided from Meerut to Delhi. Even on Friday, the train reached the city station late by 1.25 hour at 9:40 pm.
