Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam case was heard in the special CBI court on Wednesday. Former minister Anant Kumar Mishra alias Antu Mishra appeared in the court. The court has fixed March 23 as the next date of hearing.

Between 2008 and 2010, a scam worth about Rs 5,000 crore was revealed under the NRHM scheme. The investigating agency had said in the charge sheet that the then Health Minister Ananth Kumar Mishra had created about 100 Chief Medical Officer posts by separating the Family Welfare Department from the Health Department.

Appointments were made arbitrarily. Commissioning was done by purchasing medicines at expensive rates. Due to this, government money was lost. Former minister and SP MP from Jaunpur Babu Singh Kushwaha was also accused of causing government loss worth crores of rupees through irregularities.

On Wednesday, Health Department official Prabhat Kumar Srivastava recorded his statement before the court. Babu Singh Kushwaha did not appear in the court. On his behalf, the advocate presented an application for exemption from appearance. The court accepted it.

Hearing held in authority scam case

Hearing in the Noida Authority tender scam was held in the CBI court on Wednesday. The defense cross-examined investigating CBI officer Rajesh Kumar in the court. CBI had investigated the tender scam in Noida Authority. The investigation revealed a scam worth crores of rupees.

The managing director of the construction company and engineers of other authorities were involved in the scam. Even before the tender was passed, work worth crores of rupees had been done by Yadav Singh. The tender was floated after the work was completed. The CBI had made 11 people and three companies accused, including the then Chief Engineer of Noida Authority, Yadav Singh.
