The toll plaza operating at Kherkidula on Delhi-Gurugram Expressway is to be removed and a new toll plaza is to be built on Delhi-Jaipur Highway in Pachgaon area. First, when the decision was taken to build a toll plaza at Pachgaon Chowk, the nearby villagers said that construction of a flyover near the Chowk is necessary because accidents happen frequently.
Accepting the demand of the villagers, when it was decided to build a toll plaza near village Sahrawan, the security agencies raised objection citing threat to national security. After this, meetings of NHAI, GMDA and district administration have been held several times but the place could not be selected. In view of this, it has been decided to hold a meeting with officials of security agencies related to the matter as well as officials of NHAI, GMDA, HSIIDC and district administration on March 5.
A senior NHAI official says that the selection of the place is expected to be finalized on March 5. Preparations for building the toll plaza have been completed. Construction will start as soon as the site is selected. The toll plaza will be constructed in two to three months. Let us tell you that due to heavy pressure of vehicles, the demand to remove Khedikidaula toll plaza has been going on for a long time.
There is not enough space on both sides of the toll plaza to increase the number of lanes. In such a situation, the solution to the problem is to remove the toll plaza. Booth less toll plaza will be built in Pachgaon area. Here, troubled people say that they are facing the consequences of not selecting a place for the toll plaza in Pachgaon area. Rajendra Singh and Naresh Verma, who work in industrial units operating in Manesar, say that it was said that the Khedkidaula toll plaza will be abolished with the commencement of the Dwarka Expressway. It feels as if the government and administration are not serious about removing the Kherkidaula toll plaza.
