Outrage In US Against Attacks On Minorities In Bangladesh, American Hindus Took To The Streets From Chicago To Los Angeles

Digital Desk, New Delhi. Hindu Americans held peaceful rallies and prayer meetings in nearly two dozen cities, protesting targeted attacks on Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh. He urged US lawmakers and international bodies to take action.

Demonstrations took place in several cities, including Princeton, Los Angeles, Chicago, the Bay Area, Detroit, and Tampa. Organizers said the coordinated protests were intended to raise awareness and hold accountability.

Gathered in support of Bangladeshi Hindus

A speaker at a rally in Princeton said that they had all gathered in support of Bangladeshi Hindus and other minorities facing genocide in Bangladesh. He claimed that there have been more than 3,000 attacks since last year.

"It's time to speak out. It's time to stop this," the protestor demanded. Protesters in Detroit called it a "slow genocide" and said Hindus were being targeted.

He urged supporters to contact their lawmakers, unite locally and attend an event in Washington. A congressional hearing is scheduled for February 9 in Washington, DC. (With inputs from news agency IANS)
