Digital Desk, New Delhi. A week after the SIT filed a charge sheet in the alleged adulterated ghee case in Tirupati, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Officer (EO) Anil Kumar Singhal has been transferred.

Singhal, a 1993 batch IAS officer who also served as EO during the YSRCP government's tenure from May 2017 to October 2020, has been asked to report to the General Administration Department.

Ravichandra got the responsibility. According to the order issued on Sunday, Muddada Ravichandra has been appointed as the new executive officer of TTD in his place.

The committee was formed with the approval of EO

According to the SIT charge sheet, a committee comprising TTD officials and external dairy experts was formed in April 2019 with the approval of the then EO, which recommended changes in certain conditions of the ghee tender. After this, the TTD Board approved these recommendations on 29 February 2020.

Investigation revealed that due to relaxation in the conditions, no cooperative dairy got the tender and the contract was given only to private dairies, which affected the quality of ghee purchased for Laddu Prasad. (With inputs from news agency PTI)
