Three Lakh Devotees Took A Dip Of Faith In Ganga On Magh Purnima In Badaun.

Jagran correspondent, Badaun. On Magh Purnima, devotees started coming early in the morning to take a bath in the Ganga. Despite morning rain and drizzle and severe cold, there was no lack of faith of the devotees. The administration remained alert in view of the crowd of devotees. Police and administrative officials kept an eye on the system.

After the weather cleared before noon and the sun came out, a crowd of devotees gathered in a procession along with tractor trolley, e-rickshaw, bus, tempo and bike to take bath in the Ganga at Ganga Ghat. Devotees took bath in the Ganga on both the banks within a radius of about one kilometer at the Ganga Ghat.

During this time, the bathers performed yagya, havan and worship and presented dakshina to the priest. Since this Purnima is considered best for charity and Dakshina, devotees organized bhandaras etc. at Ganga Ghat throughout the month.

Even on Purnima, more than two dozen bhandaras were organized by devotees at various places. In which thousands of devotees took Prasad.

On Thursday, devotees took a dip with faith in Kachla Ganga with the slogan of Har-Har Ganga, worshiped Mother Ganga and donated jaggery, sesame seeds, ghee, blankets etc. to the needy. Some people gave Dakshina by organizing a feast for the girls by narrating the story of Lord Satyanarayan at the ghat itself.

It is believed that taking bath at sunrise provides relief from both diseases and sins. Those who are not able to take bath in the entire month of Magh, if they take bath in clean water, lake or Ganga on the full moon day and offer water to the Sun God, then they get the results of Magh bath.

Full Moon date is very dear to the Moon. Worshiping the Moon on the day of Purnima Tithi brings happiness, good fortune and desired results. There is a ritual of worshiping Lord Shri Satyanarayan, fasting and telling stories.

Police forces were deployed at various places and there was no traffic jam.

Kachla outpost incharge Kapil Kumar along with his entire team deployed such teams at various places since morning that bathing continued from morning till evening.

Due to the wisdom of the outpost in-charge, there was no jam like situation from morning till evening. However, when lakhs of people gathered for the fair, there were long queues of vehicles on the main road. During this time the vehicles kept passing slowly.

Sansu, Ushait: On Sunday, on the occasion of Magh Purnima, thousands of devotees took a dip of faith in the Ganga. Ataina Ghat of the city is the main Ganga Ghat. A large number of devotees have been reaching here since this morning.

Along with this, devotees also took bath in Ganga at Sareli Ghat, Bhundi Ghat, Khajura Ghat, charity also has special significance on this day.

The last bath takes place today on the Sangam banks of Prayagraj. During this period, special arrangements were made by Ushait police station, parking arrangements for tractor trolleys etc. at Ataina Ganga Ghat, route diversion and forces and divers were deployed to ensure that no devotee went into deep water.

Police station in-charge Ushait Devendra Singh told that the police team remained alert since morning. There was a complete vigil to ensure that there was no traffic jam and no accident. The bath ended peacefully.
