Dialogue associate, Jagran, Darbhanga. On Thursday, while overtaking a bus on Donar-Benipur SH-56 located in Green City of Sonki police station area, another bus hit the tempo coming from the front. Due to this, one passenger including the tempo driver died.
The deceased tempo driver was identified as Zaki Ahmed (30), son of Mansoor Alam, resident of Khaisa village of Jamalpur police station area. The passenger was Ganga Safi (37), son of late Lakhan Safi, resident of ward number four of Radhiyam village of Bahera police station area. He used to work as a clothes washer in Kolkata.
Ganga's nephew Shankar Safi told that after reaching Darbhanga from Kolkata by train, uncle was going home after reserving a tempo. An accident happened in this sequence. Ganga's wife Rajkumari Devi is suffering from filariasis. All three sons are minors.
On the other hand, the uncle of the deceased tempo owner cum driver, former chief Mohd. Nasrullah told that his nephew has a four-year-old son and a six-month-old daughter. His daughter-in-law Umti Begum is pregnant.
Eyewitnesses say that two bus drivers from Kusheshwarsthan towards Darbhanga were trying to overtake each other at high speed.
Meanwhile, Darbhanga Kesari bus coming from Kusheshwarsthan to Darbhanga while overtaking hit the tempo coming from the front. Due to this the tempo was tested. Sonki SHO Shashikant Jha seized the bus. The driver is absconding.
