Jagran correspondent, Hathras. The police administration stopped the march proposed by Rashtriya Savarna Parishad and other upper caste organizations in protest against the UGC Bill and SC-ST Act. This march was to go from Hathras to the Prime Minister's residence in Delhi, but the police stopped it in Hathras itself. Former Bareilly officer Alankar Agnihotri has also reached Hathras.

The entire area around Shaheed Park on Agra Road was converted into a police cantonment.

Since Saturday morning, the entire area around Shaheed Park on Agra Road turned into a police camp. The leaders and officials of the organizations who announced their participation in the march were placed under house arrest by the police. Rashtriya Savarna Parishad President Pankaj Dhavaria was also placed under house arrest at his house in Kanchan Nagar. Police said that Section 144 is in force in the district, hence no demonstration will be allowed.

Pankaj Dhavaria made allegations and raised slogans

Pankaj Dhavaria alone raised slogans and said that the society is being divided in the name of UGC Bill and SC-ST Act. He alleged that the police had forcibly stopped the march. After this, Pankaj Dhavaria sat on a dharna alone outside his house. The police also stopped the people who came to meet him.

The entire surrounding area including Agra Road and Kanchan Nagar was transformed into a police cantonment. The intelligence system also kept an eye on who was coming to participate in this march and demonstration.
