State Bureau, Jammu. The infrastructure facilities for Shri Amarnath Yatra are being expanded. In this, the focus will be on providing better services to the passengers. For this, a provision of Rs 180 crore has been made in the 2026-27 budget of Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said in the House that Shri Baba Amarnath Ji is fully committed to the safety, convenience and spiritual experience of the devotees visiting the Yatra. More than 200 travel-related infrastructure projects were completed during the year 2025-26, which has improved the safety and convenience of passengers. In the new financial year, infrastructural facilities will be expanded with the help of Border Roads Organization.

Baltal road will be widened

In which road connectivity, emergency response system and logistics support will be strengthened. With this initiative, travel will be made more safe and convenient. Let us tell you that Baltal road will be widened. Grills will be installed after identifying sensitive places on the routes.

Work will be done to make the route more accessible. Yatri Niwas is being built near Sidhada, Jammu. Its construction was started two years ago. Work is going on on this. A phase of passenger accommodation at Pantha Chowk in Srinagar was opened last year.
