Jagran correspondent, Patna. Patna University administration has postponed the student union elections till further orders. This decision was taken after the incident of fighting during the election campaign in Patna Science College on Saturday.

According to the information, a teacher of Patna Science College was beaten up by some students during the election campaign in the Science College campus.

After the incident, there was chaos in the college campus and the atmosphere became tense. Considering this as serious indiscipline, the university administration decided to stop the election process with immediate effect.

Earlier, recently an incident of creating ruckus by entering Patna Women's College without permission had also come to light.

In view of these continuous incidents, the administration said that the elections are being postponed for the time being, giving priority to the educational environment and security.

The university administration has appealed to all student organizations to exercise restraint and maintain peace on the campus. The new date will be announced after reviewing the situation.
