Pink Booth Starts In DU's Miranda House College From Today, Girl Students Will Get A Safe Environment.

Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. With the aim of strengthening the security of the students, teachers and female employees of Miranda House, the prestigious women's college of Delhi University, a pink booth has been established by Delhi Police in the college campus. This initiative is not limited to just one facility, but is considered a concrete step towards respect, trust and fearless expression of women.

Police Commissioner and DU Vice Chancellor will inaugurate the booth

College Principal Prof. Vijaya Lakshmi Nanda said that Pink Booth will become a safe platform for women, where they can share their problems without fear and hesitation. In the inauguration ceremony on Monday, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh will attend.

Vijaya Lakshmi Nanda said that under the plan of Delhi Police Headquarters and Police Commissioner, pink booths are being made in many colleges of Delhi University. Its opening at Miranda House is also special because this college is the educational and residential center of thousands of girl students. On the initiative of the regional SHO, a pink booth is being set up in the campus, so that everyday security concerns can be immediately resolved.

With the launch of Pink Booth, girl students will no longer have to visit the police station for small and big problems. Complaints about cyber crime, molestation or any other problem can be lodged directly in the college campus itself.

Women policemen will be deployed at the booth, which will make communication more comfortable, sensitive and reliable. Pro. Nanda said that Pink Booth is being developed not only as a complaint center but also as a platform for awareness.

Will also help in research

Here girl students will be able to get information related to the process of filing FIR, law and order and cyber crime directly from the police. This will increase legal understanding and will also help them in research work. With this, girl students will feel more empowered.
