PM Modi's 'Car Diplomacy' in headlines (Photo-X)
Jagran Bureau, New Delhi. The way PM Narendra Modi, who is on a three-nation tour, has been personally welcomed in Jordan and Ethiopia, such an example is rarely seen in international diplomacy. Earlier, the photo of PM Modi's car with Putin in New Delhi had gone viral.
In the car with the Crown Prince of Jordan
In Jordan, Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II himself drove PM Modi to the Jordan Museum and after the program was over, he drove to the airport and bid farewell to PM Modi. This rare gesture became a symbol of the warmth of India-Jordan friendship.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed a bilateral visit to Jordan on 15-16 December 2025, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This was the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Jordan in 37 years.

At the same time, as soon as he reached Ethiopia from Jordan, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali himself was present at the airport. Nobel laureate PM Ali himself drove PM Modi's car here and dropped him at the hotel. On the way he also informally visited the Science Museum and Friendship Park.
PM Modi's emerging 'car diplomacy'
This 'car diplomacy' of PM Modi shows personal trust and informal closeness with world leaders. Recently, during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India, both the leaders traveled together in a Toyota Fortuner and reached his residence. This use of an Indian-made non-Western vehicle was considered a symbol of 'Make in India' and independent foreign policy. Earlier, Putin had traveled together in an Aurus limousine during the SCO summit in 2025.
