PM Relief Scheme: Cashless Treatment Up To Rs 1.5 Lakh For Road Accident Victims

Digital Desk, New Delhi. The central government on Saturday announced the launch of PM Relief Scheme. Its objective is to provide emergency medical treatment to road accident victims. This scheme will prove to be a panacea for road accident victims.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that a large number of deaths occur in road accidents in India every year. By providing timely medical aid, the lives of many of these people can be saved. Studies show that about 50 percent of deaths in road accidents can be avoided if the injured are admitted to hospital within the first hour.

Let us tell you, after the Prime Minister's Office was shifted to Seva Tirtha on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved the PM Relief Scheme. Under this, road accident victims will get cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh.

The ministry said the decision underlines the government's commitment to ensure that no one dies due to lack of immediate medical attention after a road accident.

The emergency assistance system with helpline number 112 ensures that accident victims reach hospitals within golden hours. Road accident victims, passersby or anyone present at the accident site can dial 112 to get details of the nearest designated hospital and request ambulance assistance.
