In view of the ongoing chaos and possible disputes regarding voter lists in villages, the police have not only increased surveillance in rural areas, but have also started strict vigil in towns and cities.
Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena himself is taking the lead, touring the villages and taking to the streets till late night to make the presence of the police felt.

SP said that discussions regarding the voter list are intense in the villages and there is a situation of chaos at many places. In such a situation, it is important to stop any kind of rumor or controversy in time.
The SP has given clear instructions to all the police station in-charges to keep constant vigil in their respective areas. Beat constables and inspectors should regularly visit villages and take immediate action on suspicious activities.
Also establish communication with the villagers and motivate them to maintain law and order. Police is keeping an eye on rural areas as well as urban areas.
On Monday night, under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, night patrolling was done in the city along with area officer city Ankit Mishra, in-charge inspector Kotwali city and other police forces.
