Jagran correspondent, Hamirpur. Afan Khan alias Aban, the main accused in the case of rape of a Hindu girl and pressurizing her for religious conversion and circulating her obscene video on the internet media, has been discharged from LLR Hospital Kanpur.
On Wednesday, the police presented the accused in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. From where he was sent to jail. Whereas the police has already sent his father Maulana Khan, accused in the same case, to jail. On the other hand, the administration is investigating the illegally acquired property of him and his father. In which the Irrigation Department team can reach Sumerpur on Thursday to register the land of Laj.
On the night of 14th January, an obscene video of a Hindu girl resident of a locality was made popular in the internet media. After this, Hindu organizations took the matter seriously and started creating ruckus and vandalism by gheraoing the police station and blocking the Kanpur-Sagar road.
Due to this, the police swung into action on the complaint of the victim's father and registered a case against Afan Khan alias Aban and his father Maulana Khan under nine serious sections including love jihad, rape and pressure for religious conversion, circulating obscene videos on internet media.
On receiving information on the night of January 15, the police arrested the main accused Afan Khan during an encounter on Devgaon road. In which the accused was seriously injured after being shot in his right leg. The police admitted him to the district hospital and from there to Kanpur LLR Hospital.
On Wednesday, accused Afan was discharged from LLR Hospital after the report of the ortho doctor. After this the police presented him in the court. From where he has been sent to jail. Police Station Head Anup Singh said that following the instructions of the court, the main accused has been sent to jail. Teams are busy to arrest other accused.
