Jagran correspondent, Hajipur. After the tough stance of District Magistrate Varsha Singh, the administration has intensified the campaign against unethical activities in the district. In this series, a joint raid team of administration and police conducted an intensive raid in a residential hotel located in Sadar police station area on Tuesday midnight.
Many young men and women were caught in objectionable positions in hotel rooms. Police have seized many evidence and documents from the spot.
According to the information, Sadar police station had received secret information that illegal activities were being conducted in the residential hotel. After verification of the information, a special raid team was formed by the Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer along with the deputed magistrate and police force.
On Tuesday night, the team suddenly surrounded the hotel premises and started searching, which created a stir there. During the search, many young men and women were caught from the hotel rooms. Police have seized copies of the register and identity documents from the hotel reception.
The investigation found that the hotel management was carrying out the activities by disregarding the rules. Many objectionable materials have also been recovered from the spot, which have been seized as evidence.
In this matter, the police took immediate action and registered an FIR under Sadar police station case number 110/26 on Wednesday. The police have registered a case against the accused under various serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Immoral Prostitution (Prevention) Act, 1956 and have started further investigation.
District Magistrate Varsha Singh has given strict instructions that any kind of illegal or immoral activities will not be tolerated in the district. He has instructed all the sub-divisional officers to regularly inspect hotels and suspicious hideouts in their respective areas.
The DM has warned that any hotel operators found involved in unethical activities will have their licenses canceled and strict legal action will be taken.
