Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. The demand for electricity has started increasing due to the establishment of Noida Airport and industries in Yida area. The authority has started work on the Electricity Master Plan 2031 at a rapid pace. New substations and power lines are being built. Due to rural feeder in the sectors, power supply has started from the newly constructed sub-station. So far, power infrastructure of one thousand MVA has been prepared, which is sufficient for the next five to seven years.
The inauguration of Noida International Airport is near. The airport has accelerated the pace of industrial settlement in Yida. Units are being constructed in industrial sectors. Many units have also been started. Industrial units are being constructed rapidly in Apparel, Ty, MSME, MDP. There has been a rise in building construction in residential sectors also.
Keeping in view the possibility of increase in the demand for electricity due to the increasing pace of settlement in the city, the authority has started implementing the Electricity Master Plan 2031 rapidly. Three sub-stations of 220 KV capacity have been constructed and energized in Sectors 18, 24 and 32.
400 KV capacity sub-station will be built in Sector-28
Apart from supplying industrial sectors, these sectors are initially meeting the power requirement of Noida International Airport. The authority will construct 220 KV sub-station in Sector 10 and 400 KV sub-station in Sector 28 to meet future power requirements.
The airport will also be connected to 765 KV of Jahangirpur. The company is also building a sub-station of 220 KV capacity in the airport premises. Four dedicated power lines are being developed for the airport, construction of two of which has been completed.
This line has been built from Sector 18 and 32 sub-station to the airport. Both the lines are of double circuit, due to which one line has been prepared for main supply and the other for backup. Currently the airport requires 27 MVA electricity.
This will be increased in future if the electricity demand of the airport increases. The power network will meet the power needs of industrial units, residential projects. YIDA has also constructed and energized 14 33 KV sub-stations.
