Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. The checking of vehicles by the North District Police during routine patrolling in the district took a major turn when the police stopped and checked a vehicle with Jammu and Kashmir number plate. Initially the police action seemed to be a routine checking, but when a thorough investigation was carried out, it turned out to be an inter-state job racket.

After a long interrogation, the police arrested Mudassar Ahmed Mir, resident of Pulwama. He was roaming around posing as an officer of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and was cheating the youth of Jammu and Kashmir by promising them jobs in forces like NIA and Delhi Police.

During the AI Summit in the capital, when this accused of Pulwama was caught roaming behind the Red Fort in a car with Jammu and Kashmir number plate, the police first lost their sleep. The police became suspicious while checking the car's documents. He was talking to the policemen like an experienced officer. He showed such documents in which he was declared to be associated with NIA.

However, upon thorough investigation the documents were found to be fake. Considering the sensitivity of the case, it was taken seriously and to rule out any possible national security threat, the Special Cell of Delhi Police, Intelligence Bureau (IB) and NII jointly interrogated him at length but the case was not found to be linked to any terrorist organization.

A special team was formed to investigate his background, which gathered information about him in Kashmir. Investigation revealed that he used to cheat Kashmiri youth by promising them government jobs. Claiming himself to be an influential NIA officer, he used to promise jobs in agencies like NIA and Delhi Police.

The vehicle was stopped near Delhi Chalo Park behind the Red Fort, where 36-year-old Mudassar Ahmed Mir and a 16-year-old teenager were found. Kishore's father recently suffered paralysis, after which he came to Delhi in search of work to help the family.

It is alleged that Mudassar had taken money from him in the name of getting him a job. He did not get any job and the teenager was preparing to return home when the police took action.
