Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. The Income Tax Department team raided the Superior Liquor Factory located in CBganj late on Tuesday evening. According to the information, the team from Delhi reached the factory office and started a thorough investigation of the documents related to purchase, sale and tax transactions, which continued till Wednesday evening. During the action the entire complex was taken under security cordon.
As a precautionary measure, a company of local PAC has been deployed and strict vigil is being maintained at the main gate. Income Tax team employees have reached the premises in Haryana number taxi vehicles. After starting the investigation on Tuesday night, entry of common people into the factory was banned. Only selected employees associated with management and departmental work were allowed to enter the office area.
Routine production-related work continued in the factory premises, while Income Tax officials scrutinized files and records in the office block. According to sources, many files related to purchases and sales were brought from outside and tax payment records were matched. Local Income Tax officials clarified that this action is being taken by the special Income Tax team of Delhi and the local unit has no direct role in it.
The team is camping on the premises itself. The duty of police personnel engaged in security is being changed at an interval of 12 hours. The responsible officials of the company are currently maintaining distance from the media and are avoiding giving any kind of official response.
Insiders say that various tax related aspects are being investigated in detail, so that all types of tax transactions can be verified. There was commotion in the area as the action continued till late evening. There has been no response from factory chairman Pradeep Agarwal and managing director Manish Agarwal.
