Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and former minister Jaivardhan Singh.

State Bureau, Bhopal. While replying to the discussion on the grant demands of the Urban Development and Housing Department in the Assembly on Tuesday, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said about the metro that the officials sat down and planned the metro, did not even discuss it with the public representatives and immediately imposed it on the city. Bhopal MP Alok Sharma and MLA Rameshwar Sharma told me to hold a metro meeting once. I will hold a meeting of Bhopal Metro, call the public representatives of Bhopal and discuss.

Meanwhile, Rameshwar Sharma said that the work on Lok Bhavan should be stopped, otherwise it will become difficult to come to the assembly. On this Vijayvargiya said that we will sit soon. Earlier, MLA Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat said that metro is being built in Indore but no MLA was asked. At the same time, Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh also said that Metro will be successful in Indore-Bhopal only when we connect it with public transport. After discussion, the proposal demanding a grant of Rs 21 thousand crore for the department and Rs 152 crore for the state legislature was approved.

My first signature on the metro, but there was no plan to run it in the city.

Vijayvargiya said that the first signature on the Metro file was mine, there was no plan to run it in the city. To decentralize the city, it was to be run between Bhopal-Vidisha, Bhopal-Hoshangabad (Narmadapuram), Bhopal-Raisen due to which the density is less. Similarly, there was a plan between Indore to Dewas, Mhow, Ujjain, but in between, the Kamal Nath government of 15 months came and started the work by doing Bhoomi Pujan. I assure that Metro will be made useful for every city, not just Indore and Bhopal. He said that for cleanliness, tree plantation and pure air, we will have to bring culture across the state like Indore.

Master plan ready since one and a half year

Vijayvargiya said that we had prepared the master plan one and a half years ago, the Chief Minister will issue it after seeing it, this is his right. Meetings have taken place three-four times. We will have to re-consider the metropolitan area, if he says so then we will re-draft.

People don't get angry when taxes are increased

The minister said that I increased the tax of Indore twice and won with 25 percent more votes. People are not angry at increasing taxes, they are angry at not working. On this, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar said, you increase taxes, do work, provide facilities to the people, I don't know why people are afraid, we are going to give a lot of encouragement to the PPP model this time. Vijayvargiya also said that CM will give special funds to whatever body or municipal corporation works under the Jan Bhagidari Yojana.

Rs 550 crore reduced in basic amenities budget

MLA Jaivardhan Singh said that the Urban and Development Department was given five percent budget, this is not appropriate. Rs 550 crore reduced in basic amenities budget. The Bhagirathpura accident has alerted all the cities of the state. Work was not done with quality in Amrit Yojana. The contractor DPR maker does not know how the sewerage system is built. Now registration has been made mandatory in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, how will those who are poor do the registration? This will leave very few people with a registry. Supporting this, BJP MLA from Sagar Shailendra Jain said that many families do not have registry.

Indore model of cleanliness should be implemented in all bodies

Jaivardhan Singh said that Indore's model of cleanliness should be implemented in all the bodies. In the coming time, we should build a model town with 100 percent sewerage coverage there and show it to ADB or World Bank, this can send a good message. Bhopal master plan could not be made after 2005. Indore's master plan is also getting delayed. These should be brought soon so that planned development can take place.
