The air quality in Delhi worsened on Tuesday.

State Bureau, New Delhi. The air quality in Delhi worsened on Tuesday and the AQI reached 372. At 16 places the quality was above 400 i.e. in 'severe' category. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi's AQI was 304 on Monday and 279 on Sunday. In this way, the pollution level is increasing again after Sunday. There is no hope of relief for the next few days.

According to CPCB's Sameer app, 16 out of 39 monitoring stations recorded AQI more than 400 (severe category). Critical category stations include Burari, Anand Vihar, Mundka, Bawana, Vivek Vihar, Rohini, Sonia Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Punjabi Bagh. According to the air quality early warning system for Delhi, the city's AQI is likely to remain in the "very poor" or "severe" category for the next few days.

According to the Decision Sport System (DSS) of IIT Pune, the contribution of vehicles to Delhi's pollution on Tuesday was 18.4%, which was the highest among local pollution factors. The contribution of industrial units was 9.2%. Of the emissions from neighboring cities, Noida accounted for 8.2%, Ghaziabad 4.6%, Baghpat 6.2%, Panipat 3.3% and Gurugram 2.9%. Transport emissions are estimated to contribute 15.6% on Wednesday.

At the same time, there is a forecast of fog on Wednesday night. There is a possibility of slow to light surface wind from south-west. The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 25.8 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.1 degrees above normal.
