Jagran correspondent, Auraiya. The possibility of crude oil reserves is being expressed on the banks of Sengur river in UP. For this, search is being done continuously by boring. On the prospect of crude oil, Alphageo (India) Limited Company spent about three and a quarter lakh rupees in underground boring.

In Auraiya, first of all the team did 20 borings up to 80 feet on the banks of Sengur river in Hasanpur village of Achalda on 14 December last year. Four blasts were fired and the waves were recorded. 18 borings took place in Bidhuna. Eight blasts were carried out. In Ajitmal, 40 borings and 10 blasting works were carried out underground. Experts say that 10 to 12 thousand rupees are spent on boring 50 to 80 feet. Boring depends on depth.

The team's chances of discovering crude oil in the area increased after drone cameras detected it in November 2025. ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) is investigating the geological structure. There could be an important discovery in the energy sector. Economic activities may increase at the local level and new doors to oil production may open in the future.

Due to signs of crude oil in Hasanpur village, 20 borings were done at 80 to 150 feet in a radius of three kilometers. From 14 to 16 December the team remained active on the banks of Sengur river. On December 21, data was collected by company officials by boring at about 18 places in Ruruganj and Bhuta villages of Bidhuna area.

Field in-charge Santosh Maurya said that after getting information about the data collected through waves, if proper amount of hydrocarbon material is found then the regional people will get the biggest benefit. A big campaign for the discovery of crude oil in Ajitmal area was launched on December 25 in many villages including Shahpur Bendi. Intensive survey and excavation work was done in villages like Shahpur Bendi, Khetupur Narayanpur and Kazipur Bamba. More than 200 laborers and technical staff were busy working day and night. Samples were collected by boring at 80 to 120 different places. These samples were sent to the company's laboratory in Delhi for detailed testing and analysis.

Drill boring done in four villages in Kannauj

Hyderabad team did drill boring in four villages in search of petroleum. Drill machines have drilled 30 meters deep at 25 places in the fields. In Vishungarh police station area of ​​Kannauj district, 60 meter deep boring was done in village Kudra, Raipura, Poppur and Tirwa Kotwali Bahsar village.
