Jagran correspondent, Rishikesh. Chardham Yatra Management and Control Organization has received proposals for various works from the districts for the preparations of Chardham Yatra. Proposals worth about Rs 44 crore have come from seven districts. These proposals have been sent to the government by the organization. The budget for yatra preparations is expected to be released soon.
This year Chardham Yatra is to start from April. According to tradition, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will open on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. Akshaya Tritiya is on 19th April. The doors of Badrinath are to open on 23rd April. The auspicious time for opening the doors was fixed on Vasant Panchami. The date of opening of doors of Kedarnath Dham will be decided on Mahashivratri. Three districts Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi are directly connected to the yatra. There are Dhams in these districts.
There are travel stops in the remaining districts. Preparations are done there also. On January 17, the first meeting for the preparations for Chardham Yatra was held at Yatra Transit Camp Rishikesh. In the meeting, Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey had asked the districts to submit proposals soon. So that the budget is released on time and preparations are completed before the doors open. Proposals have been given to the Chardham Yatra Management and Control Organization on behalf of seven districts.
Proposals worth Rs 44 crore have come from seven districts. This includes proposals from the organization worth about Rs 7 crore for construction of Yatra Transit Camp in Rishikesh etc. These proposals have been sent to the government by the organization. The funds are expected to be released soon. This time the journey will start after mid-April. Therefore, districts will have less time for preparations. The journey started in the end of April last year.
Proposals came from the districts for these works
Medical arrangements, transportation arrangements, cleanliness on the travel routes from Tehri during the Yatra season, tourism from Haridwar district, work done by the transport department, cleaning arrangements by the Municipal Corporation, Yatra bus stand in Rishikesh from Dehradun district to Chandrabhaga bridge, IDPL parking, installation of street lights in the post office ground, repair and upgradation of tourist accommodation houses on the main and pedestrian routes by Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam, doctors, paramedical on behalf of the health department. Arrangements for staff, ambulance etc., cleaning arrangements, transportation arrangements by District Pauri, drinking water arrangements in Chardham and Hemkund Sahib by General Manager Garhwal Jal Sansthan office, work to be done in Gangotri, Yamunotri by District Uttarkashi, cleaning arrangements, construction work at various places by SP Rudraprayag office, proposals for various works have been sent by District Chamoli.
The meeting is to be held with joint rotation
There will soon be a meeting of the Transport Department with the officials of the joint rotation for the Chardham Yatra. The joint rotation involves 10 transport companies. Which has about 2200 buses. Travelers also go on Chardham Yatra by buses. Representatives of the companies have already met. In which the president has been elected. The number of buses running on local routes during the travel season, fare increase etc. are to be discussed in the meeting. Transport companies say that fares should be increased before increasing taxes.
